When you hear Yves Saint Laurent, or YSL, it is more than likely you will think of French and Parisian haute couture. This is certainly true, and Yves Saint Laurent sunglasses follow the the precedent set by Yves Saint Laurent's fantastic fashion collections.
Known the world over for the executive, and quality fashion styles, Yves Saint Laurent sunglasses follow the standard perfectly. The designer apparel is a way of complementing the latest styles and complement some of the most diverse fashion styles from around the world.
The new Yves Saint Laurent collection of optical frames and sunglasses present strong design contents: the classic and sophisticated women's lines flank unusual but innovative men’s frames in a play of experimentation producing a collection that is as diverse as it is exciting.
Oversized acetate styles with square or oval frames possess heightened lines alongside more restrained silhouettes, including the ultra-light glasant styles. The new season also unveils several wraparound styles with eye-catching temples and original metal models with a double bridge or enamelled hoops encircling the lenses, as well as ultra- streamlined men's acetate models.
The logo is the focus of the new collection: the “Cassandra” monogram – the French designer's historic symbol with its entwined, overlapped YSL lettering – sits prominently on these new models. On the more glamorous frames the monogram appears with the letter “S” in strass to match the frame colour, creating a brilliant play of light.
On the men's and unisex models, the monogram is produced through a laser-etching technique at the temple corners or on the metal plates linking the front to the temples. The more cutting-edge models have the logo perforated inside a small circle at the bridge or etched on the exposed screws set into the sides of the lugs.
The new season's colour palette is both vibrant and sophisticated: the new women's range is enhanced by brilliant shades of violet, green, turquoise and deep red but also in white, opal, burgundy and pink alternating with the more classic shades of brown, dark Havana brown, black and blue. Metal frames and men's frames veer towards colours like rose-tinged gold, green or blue ruthenium, plum, grey-blue and violet palladium which can be combined with bright lenses. Men's acetate models show a variation of classic tortoiseshell, Havana red and brown.
No wonder Yves Saint Laurent sunglasses are one of the leading designer sunglasses on the market today with such diverse and ideal collections.
