Photochromatic lenses are lenses which change colour according to light intensity. The higher the intensity of light the darker the lenses become. This feature is ideal for driving when sudden light changes can be dangerous and uncomfortable.
In low intensity sunlight photochromatic lenses will remain their standard shade but will increase in darkness as light intensity increases.
The change in colour is clearly visible and remains for approximately 2-3 minutes. Ideally photochromatic lenses should darken by 20%-30%.
Serengeti offers photochromatic lenses in a majority of their sunglasses as standard.
